Synchronizing UltraLite databases on the Palm Computing Platform
Configuring TCP/IP, HTTP, or HTTPS synchronization
To use HTTP or HTTPS synchronization, you must first configure RAS TCP/IP synchronization. For information on configuring RAS, see Configuring TCP/IP synchronization for the Palm Computing Platform.
When using HTTP or HTTPS, the MobiLink synchronization server can be any machine on the network that is accessible via the protocol.
To synchronize using HTTP or HTTPS
Place the Palm device in its cradle.
If you are using the serial port to connect to a desktop machine running RAS, shut down the HotSync Manager and other applications that use the serial port. Windows only allows one application to use a serial port at a time.
Start the MobiLink synchronization server.
Ensure that the network settings on the Palm device are configured so that it can connect to the network. Modem settings are also required if using a modem to dial into an ISP.
For more information, see Configuring TCP/IP synchronization for the Palm Computing Platform.
