The forindex bundle consists of two programs: doindex and cleanindex.

Doindex reads a list of "items to index", and processes a LaTeX file to add \index commands in accordance with the items in the list.

Cleanindex removes the \index commands from a LaTeX file.

Both programs are written in SNOBOL IV; .exe files compiled with Spitbol are available for Windows users. The author is Guido Milanese.
