The Mathtime fonts have a number of characters remapped to positions different from the ones normally used by the corresponding TeX CM-fonts. For the symbol font ``operators'' the corresponding mathtime style files use the Times Roman font (often called something like: ptmr or ptmr7t or ptmrq). The author is Aloysius Helminck.
