MusicTeX is a set of macros, that first demonstrated the technique of simultaneous two-dimensional typesetting as applied to music. MusicTeX has its shortcomings (notably in the area of slurs), and is now largely superseded by MusiXTeX. The author is Daniel Taupin. See also abc2mtex musixtex.
